Application stages and statuses

Here is a summary of all the stages and statuses through which applications may pass. While building consent applications may pass through all these stages and statuses, supporting applications pass through only a subset.

Draft

Draft

You can draft any number of applications in Objective Build. These are visible only to you or your organisation. The system assigns a unique BLD identification number to a new draft application. You can edit applications in the Draft state.

LodgementLodgement

BCA checks your application is complete and lodges it into the BCA's system.

Submitted

When you start the submission process for an application, Objective Build locks the application to ensure the integrity of your application throughout the vetting and lodgement process.

Objective Build processes the application and passes it to the BCA system.

Submit Failure

The submit process failed. Check your notifications for more failure information.

Vetting

BCA performs an administrative check of your application for completeness.

Vetting RFIs

BCA requests you add additional information to your application.

Accepted

BCA accepts your application but it is not yet lodged in the BCA system.

Lodged

BCA lodges your application in the BCA system.

Assessment
Assessment

BCA performs a technical assessment of your application for compliance with the Building Code and issues a consent.

Processing

BCA checks the documents you supplied show the proposed building work complies with the Building Code.

RFIs

BCA requires clarification or further information.

Issued

BCA is satisfied Building Code compliance is verified and you have paid all fees and levies. BCA grants the building consent.

Consent informs you of inspections required for BCA to be satisfied the building work complies with the consent and Building Code.

Certificates

You apply for a code compliance certificate with the required supporting documents. BCA issues the certificate if the building work complies with the building consent.

CCC Started

Your application for code compliance certificate is accepted and the CCC process started.

CCC Processing

BCA processes your CCC application to determine the building work is compliant.

CCC Issued

BCA is satisfied with Building Code compliance and issues the certificate.
